Bala
Lake Railway - Rheilffordd Llyn Tegid. Small narrow gauge railway running from
Llanuwchllyn to Bala along side Bala lake. One of the Great Little Trains
of Wales.
Brecon
Mountain Railway. Travel behind a vintage steam locomotive from Pant Station to
Pontsticill taking in the scenery of the Brecon Beacons and Taf Fechan
Reservoir. One of the Great Little Trains of Wales.

Corris
Railway & Museum - Amgueddfa A Rheilffordd Corris. Built in 1859 the Corris Railway was
the first narrow gauge railway in Mid Wales. The steam hauled round trip
takes 50 minutes.
Fairbourne
& Barmouth Steam Railway. Enjoy a two mile trip on one of Britains Great
Little Railways from Fairbourne to Penrhyn Point, then take the pedestrian
ferry across to Barmouth.
Llanberis Lake Railway - Rheilffordd Llyn
Padarn. Running from Llanberis to Penllyn with views of the
Snowdonian Mountains and Lake Padarn. The historic little steam engines
all worked originally at nearby slate quarries.
Llangollen
Railway - Rheilffordd Llangollen. Enjoy the beautiful Welsh scenery on the 8
miles from Llangollen to Carrog behind either steam or diesel
locomotives. Various special events are held throughout the year.
Rheilffordd Ffestiniog Railway / Rheilffordd Eryri
Welsh Highland Railway (Caernarfon). The Ffestiniog
Railway climbs over 700 ft from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Take a
13 ½ mile journey behind a unique steam narrow gauge locomotive. Or
why not try the 12 mile section of the Welsh Highland Railway between
Caernarfon and Rhyd ddu, which they hope eventually to extend through
Beddgelert and down to Porthmadog, making the longest narrow gauge line in
Britain.
Snowdon
Mountain Railway. Take in the breathtaking views from the summit of Snowdon, which at 3,560
ft is the highest mountain in England and Wales. From Llanberis Station
the journey begins on the rack and pinion railway, taking 2 and a half hours
for a return trip.
Talyllyn.
Running inland
from Tywyn to Nant Gwernol, this narrow gauge steam railway has at the main
station in Tywyn a large Narrow Gauge Railway Museum with it's own

Vale of Rheidol Railway. Enjoy an
11 ¾ mile journey through the Rheidol Valley on a narrow gauge steam
train. From Aberystwyth climb over 600 ft to Devils Bridge.
Welsh
Highland Railway (Porthmadog). This small friendly railway currently running
from Porthmadog to Pen-y-Mount has both steam and diesel locomotives in
operation. It has a large shop which stocks a substantial selection of
new railway books.
Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. A 2ft 6
inch gauge railway running from Llanfair Caerinion to Welshpool. The 8
mile jouney is undertaken by original and preserved steam locomotives from
various countries.
FAVOURITES WELL WORTH A VISIT.
Bodmin
and Wenford Railway. This standard gauge railway running from Bodmin General to Boscarne
Junction and Bodmin General to Bodmin Parkway has steep gradients, so sit back
and listen to the sound of either diesel or steam locomotives working hard!

Churnet
Valley Railway. Enjoy a 10 ½ mile return journey along the Churnet Valley between
Cheddleton and Kingsley & Froghall. Mostly steam with various special
events.

East Lancashire Railway. Running
between Heywood - Bury - Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall this 12 mile standard gauge
railway uses mainly steam locomotives but has various diesel events to keep
everyone happy.
